Home. Playing in the dark

Considering the needs of the heart and mind in the darkness of our present moment, Carew’s immersive installation Quantum Sanctuary transports guests to a reclamation space that activates the senses and promotes awareness of our interconnectedness. Light and sound, digital display, and physical sculpture merge to explore embodied consciousness, honoring Carew’s ancestral healing practices. Quantum Sanctuary marks an evolution in Carew’s existing body of work through the blending of her honed sculptural practice with her more recent experimentation with digital art. In this new work, Carew brings visible energy transference into contact with the image of the human body, with her own form postured with joy in an incandescent environment of inverted color.
